A family with strong roots

Let us introduce ourselves: From the oldest inhabitant to the youngest offspring

The Pichler family: Markus with his wife Annelie and their sons Alex, Marc and Eric. Old farmer Luise also lives on the Grotthof. They run the farm with great dedication, passion and lots of new ideas.

The farmer

Markus: The all-rounder

Year of birth: A child of the 70s
Occupation: In addition to my work as a farmer at Grotthof, I work as a branch manager at Raiffeisenkasse Aldein, part of Raiffeisenkasse Nova Ponente-Aldein.
Passions: My heart beats for music, I am a member of the music band, the brass band and the Bohemians of Eggen. In my free time I like to tinker - often with my sons - in the small workshop on the farm. There I give the wood from my forest a new look.

The farmer's wife

Annelie: The creative spirit

Year of birth: a child of the 80s
Profession: I trained as a church painter in Germany. Since coming to the farm in 2011 after my wedding to Markus, I have been looking after our dear guests and helping Markus with the farm work.
Passions: Although I met my husband through music, my great passion is art. When I'm doing handicrafts and painting, I'm in my own world and can fully unfold. I'm especially happy when I can take our guests into the world of art.

The old farmer's wife

Luise: The good soul of the house

Year of birth: 1937
Occupation: After finishing school I started to teach in different schools in South Tyrol. I married my husband Anton in 1960 and came to the Grotthof in 1961. Since then I have had my hands full with my job and the work on the farm.
Passions: I love being in the garden, where time flies. I enjoy the peace and quiet and am happy when the flowers and vegetables are flourishing. Otherwise, my grandchildren Alex, Marc and Eric keep me very busy.
